I had a great experience at Clearwater Thrifty car sales. Our sales contact was Bo, and he was very polite and very understanding of our needs. My husband and I purchased a 2005 Doge Durango, and we are very pleased with this SUV. Even though we have struggled with our credit score, Bo was able to get us in a vehicle of our choice . The staff at Thrifty was very professional and curtious. When purchasing the Dodge, there was a cracked plastic piece that fits the lower portion of the drivers seat. They ordered the part right away and had me bring the vehicle back for repair. The serviced department also was very professional and caring. I recommend Thrify Car Sales.

First off, my credit sucks! I filled out an online application and was emailed several times to come in. My thoughts were pretty conclusive that this was a marketing ploy to get me to come to the dealership so I could be told face to face NO. About a week later, I received a phone call to set an appointment and after a few minutes, I felt ok with the decision to go ahead and make the appointment, which I did. I met with Bo who sat down with me and asked me what my situation was. The funny thing was that he actually sat there and listened. When I was finished "making my case", he looked me dead in the eye and said they could help. They did. Not only did they finance me, but I am in a Mustang Convertible with an affordable payment! Look, like I said my credit sucks. For those reviews complaining about the interest rate, take their advice. Make the payment on time, every time and within 18 to 24 months refinance. They even offered to help me with this.

Their staff is friendly and helpful. I think the negative posters are allowing the anger of their own situation to show. I am thankful for the loan (at 28% by the way). It's still a loan and I am an extremely high credit risk. If I bite the bullet, make the payments and refinance, then they have made it all worth the while. Oh, and my car had a headlight short and their service department has not stopped with regards to making the repairs. While they tried once and couldn't get it working, I am dropping it by after work today for them to try again. While I am there, they remember and call me by my name, treat me with respect and dignity and make me feel at home. If your credit sucks and you are WILLING to bite the bullet and make your payments on time. If you are willing and able to make the payments and you have the strong desire to rebuild your credit, then Thrifty in conjunction with Platinum Auto Finance is the place to go. Thanks to all of you for a wonderful and humbling experience.

This is by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Will make this simple and to the point. I purchased a car from these thieves in January of 09. Immediately had engine problems. Took it in for them to look at it found out it needed new motor mounts and a new transmission. To their credit they fixed it and returned it to me three and a half months later. They did give me 8 different loaner cars while my car was in their care. That is a whole other nightmare of a story. Got my car back in May. Day one car needed four new tires. Last week, while driving home from work my dashboard lit up with warning lights. Called Thrifty next day to see if they would take a look at it. They flat out refused and told me I would have to take it to the Volkswagon dealership. I did as they suggested and found it now needs a water pump, battery, alternator, thermostat, two fans (was told they knew they were shot when I bought the car), and a pulley. I cannot afford these repairs so I will return car. I made a huge mistake in trusting these fools. I have contacted news channel 8 and abc action news. I have contacted an attorney. You cannot use the "Lemon Law" on used cars but you can sue them for consumer fraud. Beware. My new purpose in life is to show people how horrible this clan is.

I had a great experience with Thrifty Car sales. I have been to over 10 other dealerships that told me over and over they could get me in to a car and not one of them could. So many other dealerships wasted so much of my time and let me leave with a car thinking everything was done and the car was mine only to have them call me a day or two later telling me there was a problem and could I come in to try to get it worked out. Payless let me leave in 3 different cars and every time made me bring them back.

Thrifty Car sales was the only dealership that was honest and up front with me about what I needed, how much money I would need down and actually got me in to a car I got to keep. I was there for several hours, but it was all worth it to leave with the car I wanted and with a payment I could afford. They were even nice enough to help me with my down payment and let me pay some of it in a few weeks so I was not completely broke till my next payday. They even let me take the car to a friend of mine to have it checked before I signed the papers, none of the others would let me do that. That says a lot for the cars the other guys sell. Never go to Payless, Tropical, Prestige, Drivetime or any of those others.

All I have to say is thank you Dan, I love my new car and I appreciate everything you did to help me out. I will send every one I know to you.

These guys are the most arrogant and unprofessional people I ever met. They treated my wife and me like trash. I was asking for the price of the vehicles and they got all mad because they wanted me to tell them that I was buying the car or not. How in the hell I will tell them if I was buying a car, if they don't give me the price??? After 20 minutes trying to get the price of the SUV, I got tired and I asked them to give me the "application" I filled for the car loan because it has my personal information on it, and since I was not able to make business with them, I needed my application back. They got all pissy, and he call some other jerk, and they asked me to leave or they were gonna call the police. What they don't know is that I have everything on my blackberry :0), I left because my wife is pregnant, and she was very upset too. I never got loud or disrespected anybody there, but they did. I already made a review on a military website, where all the service members have access. If you want to be mistreated, "THIS IS THE PLACE"!!!!!

BTW--All their cars stink like old taxi cabs... Not a lot of selection....

SIMPLE MATH! DON't BUY CARS FROM THESE PEOPLE OR YOU WILL REGRET!!! They are the most unprofessional customer service people you will ever deal with.

People!! Let's open a facebook group for these guys. We have to stop these people...

Default Dealer response on The most unprofessional people in a cae dealer

These statments are so false it is not even funny. You came in asked about prices we priced about 10 vehicles out for you. We sat down to get the loan process started discovered you were past due on your current car loan and you explained to us you were not. We asked you for proof you said "I WILL GET THAT LATER". You also said you did not want to trade the vehicle in. Two different team members tried to explain to you unfortunatly when you are past due on one car loan, you can not get a second. Immediatly after each time we explained this you started asking about prices on a different vehicle. They also said we could not help you accomplish what you wanted which is to get a second car when you are past due on your first and thanked you for coming in. You started asking for your paper work back which we explained I have to keep your application on file if Equifax audits us and ask if we have a signed credit application on file, since we pulled your credit. I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE THEM THE ORIGINAL!! I also explained if you can not buy a vehicle with yout credit no one is going to steal your identity and start paying on new credit they acquire in your name. Identity theft happens to people with Excellent Credit. Which was not you. Good Luck and God Bless

You are a LIAR!!!! You should put the same effort you put lying, to start treating people with respect. My car loan has never been late, and you never told me that I was late on my payments. You just have to do a quick Google search typing THRIFTY CAR SALES REVIEW, and you will see how people talk about how unprofessional you guys are. I have proof of your lies… You also used with me, the same old trick you used with other customers. Saying that the credit person was traveling an hour just to meet with me, that guy works there. I got me a nice 2007 SUV, in CARMAX. Great people, and great customer service. I went there two days after I had that incident with your trash dealership...You are already in our "Places not to buy a car" all over the military network… I will keep letting people know how unprofessional are in Thrifty Car Sales, Clearwater…
