Good or Bad.
bad credit, i know it and when i talk to a car sales person, as soon as i tell them that, they just brush me off like i am not a person. Well i called spoke to a very polite sale person and i told him right away my credit is bad. He did not just brush me off. He actually spent 15 plus Min's on the phone with me. Not only to tell me that he understood my situation but that there is something he can actually do for me. He went on to tell me how he is going to be going on a Business trip for there dealership 2ND week of November. And that when he came back and had this new lender signed up to do business with there company. That he would call me back. He was super polite he took my name my number, even went on to explain how not only can he get me in to a car but how if i do certain things and he explained what i would need to do that, not only would i have a car that would get me back and fourth to work. But he went on to take the time to explain how this would help to re build my credit. So i cant say enough about him. I bet before i called this dealership i spoke with at least 10 different sales people. And most from BIG Dealers and as soon as i was up front and honest with the sales staff they would just brush me off. But i cant stress enough how he took his time with me on the phone. And made me feel like a true person, not just some credit score. He was even up front and honest with me. He told me that i may not be able to buy the car that i want. But by going through with this program that he went in to great depths to explain to me, that by making my payments on time that just down the road a bit i could trade it in and than have the credit to be able to get something more to what i may be wanting. On top of that he was even so honest and nice and so much not a sales person he tells me and i quote " Buy a car that not only fits in to your budget but something that is far less than what your budget would be, so if something comes up you can always stay current with your car payment and bills this way your credit is being built back up, and this is where he really surprised me when he said by doing this you can than trade the car in and YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE to bring it back to me to trade it and buy something more to my likening. When he said that i knew that he was not only a great guy but he was not out to just make sales. Because i know car sales men get more commission by selling a car that cost more. And he instead of trying to push me in to a car that i would just be able to afford he was telling me to buy a car that COST less than what i had in mind. Its rare that you find someone in sales that is not out for anything more than a commission. Well what this guy don't know is that not only when i trade in my car that i buy from him i will trade it at his dealership and be sure that i work with him. And every single person i know i will send them to this guy. Because again when i first called i was up front and told him look this is my situation my credit is bad, and he took the time to talk to me and let me know that here soon he will be able to not only get me in to a car but went on to explain to me how to re build my credit. He also said to me hey look don't feel bad you and millions of Americans are in the same position, he even told me how his credit is not what it once was. He told me about how he and his girlfriend had a business and they pretty much lost everything they had because of the bad market. And i believed him and it meant alot. He did not have to tell me his own personal story but he did. So i just wanted to thank him and i thought by doing this i hope one day he sees this and knows how much it meant to me that he treated me so kindly. I work for a company in Cincinnati that has over 185 people that work for this company, and i can tell you most all of us are having hard times because they cut all of our hours back. I will send this and i don't want to call him a sales person cause my past experience a sales person to me are just mean people unless they know they can make $$$$$$$ off of you. But i will send this guy so much business. Because just in my department there are 32 people that work with me and i know of 4 of them that are having a hard time buying a car. So once again i thank you for showing me you have a kind heart and for taking your time with someone you know that was in the position i am in.
They are great people and have a very nice selection. Everytime I go, I trade in my vehicle to something nicer. I have bought 3 vehicles from them and never had any problems.
I was searching for a BMW e30 with low miles when I found what looked like the perfect car in an online search. I sent an initial inquiry and drove up from South Carolina to have a look after being assured by the owner that that the car was in "pristine" condition, aside from a small tear in the top.
I should have known as soon as I saw the other "little" problems the car had, but the salesman was nice and friendly, and explained each problem away, one by one. The dashboard computer was nonfunctional, but he promised to locate and send me another one. The heater blower didn't work, but he promised it was only a switch. There was even what seemed to be a pushed-in place on the inside of one of the wheel-wells, but he absolutely assured me that there was no damage. And then there was the top.
The salesman brought out a mechanic to explain about all of the work they had done on the top. They had replaced the motor, and everything was in perfect condition, he explained, except that it needed to be synchronized, and that, he said, had to be done at a BMW dealership because it required a special BMW tool. Both the salesman and the mechanic assured me that they had spoken with a mechanic at the BMW dealership about it, and that it would take no more than 1 hour's labor and would be a quick, easy fix.
I couldn't take the car over to the dealership because it was Saturday afternoon--I couldn't stay in Cincinnati until Monday. If I had, I could have saved thousands of dollars, not to mention time and frustration. It turned out, as I found once I'd gotten the car home and to my mechanic, that nearly everything they had said about the car was untrue.
To start with, this car in "pristine" condition needed to have the wheel-well pushed back out. (I was right. I should have trusted what I saw.) The car also needed a new timing belt asap, and they had shined up the tires so you couldn't tell that they were dry-rotted. The battery, which looked new, was actually worn out, probably because of the alternator which was also bad and had to be rebuilt. But the real killer was the top.
The top, which the dealer had spent a half-hour talking about, was completely bent and broken. It needs not only a new motor (which was supposed to have been replaced) but also new arms, which had been bent past the point of repair (probably in conjunction with the motor breaking.) In short, the description of the car as "pristine" was a complete misrepresentation. Approximate cost of needed repairs: $3200.00.
I contacted the owner, who offered to pay $500 toward the repairs only after I contacted the Ohio BBB. Since that is less than 1/2 of the amount that will be required to fix the top alone, I'm taking the case to the Ohio Attorney General.
Don't be fooled like I was! The people at Cincinnati Used Auto Sales seemed friendly (and had a great dog--a Boston Terrier named Snoops), The selection of cars was great. It's a shame that they can't be trusted, but when it comes to car sales, honesty is everything, and that is the one thing they don't have. I was taken in, but you don't have to be.
My advice? Don't even THINK about buying a car from Cincinnati Used Auto Sales. There are too many other dealers who will actually stand behind their word. Find one of the good ones, and save yourself a lot of money and headaches.

Update on BUYER BEWARE!
I definitely do NOT recommend this dealer--not sure why it says yes, but that's definitely a "NO."
