I've purchased a 2005 Porsche 997 from Smith Family motors (07/31/2008) with a $ 3000 deposit and paid the balance off on the 08/05/2008.I've organized the transportation from their dealership to Miami and since i've bought the car i don't have the title !!!* They told me the car was a consignment after i wired the money and the title wasn't in their hand. How long do you think it would take to get a title from the bank 5-10 business days if you pay the bank of course !!! guess what ? I'm still waiting !!! After many phone calls trying to find out what's going on ,i had the feeling they were playing with my money ,they told me they send a check to the bank on the 08/14/2008 by mail!!! no kidding how long is it going to take to get there and be cleared by the bank ?* *When i wired the money to them it took 1 Hour !!! for them to get it . I know by law you have a certain amount of time to pay off the bank ,but if you want to provide a good service you pay it off *the next day !!!* Oh i know why don't we play with that money we have 14 days to pay the bank and maybe more if we mail the check !!! thank you Smith family Motors very smart. As of today 09/22/2008 i don't have my title ,i have filed a complaint with the*http://www.mved.utah.gov/ *(09/09/2008) . I've bought the car to export it in my country and without the title there is nothing i can do.* The depreciation on those cars is very high you are loosing money every month. Thank you Smith Family Motors ,Thank you Mr Rustyn Smith and as i told you in my last E mail why don't you come in Miami *to tell me straight in my face what you wrote me in your E mails !!! |

When Renaud first contacted us we explained that the Porsche was on consignment and that there was a loan that would have to be paid and therefore the title would be delayed. He knew before he bought the car the title would be delayed. After we received his check we immedietly sent a payoff check to Porsche Financial in Chicago. When we didn't receive the title after a couple of weeks we called and they said their policy is to hold titles for 15 business days. To expedite them releasing the title we got a copy of the cleared check and faxed it to Porsche along with bank contact info so they could verify. They mailed us the title by regular mail and we forwarded it to Renaud as soon as we got it. We have explained this to Renaud so many times but his only response is to get abusive and insulting. If we could have got him the title any quicker we would have. Not knowing then what we know now there is no way we could have got him the title any quicker. Smith Family Motors |

Abusive and insulting !!! let me post your E-mails online and we will see who was insulting !!!About the title , you never told me is a consignment before i wired the money, you told me after . And just to remind you by law in your State you have 48 hours to provide the title to the buyer without a permit !! what is your answer to this ? oh no ,keep the answer for the motor vehicle enforcement division. The DMV should really be concerned about dealership like yours and the way you do business. |

We had a great experience at Smith Family Motors. We had been looking for a while for this minivan (2007, 8 seater Sienna) and found one here with a good price. There were some scratches and dings still visible, after being detailed by the dealership, but we were okay with that. We detailed everything we wanted fixed on the van, and they fixed it the next week. The "3" rating on financing is because we had to choose something, and we don't know about their financing, since we paid cash. The van had a couple of issues (squeaky window, broken compartment, starter noise) but these are still under original warranty so we took it into Toyota. Smith Family Motors offered a 30 day warranty, also, so we could have taken it back into them, if Toyota had given us any grief. |

I decided to purchase a used car in the United States and enlisted the help of a Canadian vehicle broker to locate, secure and transport a Lexus IS350 from the US to Canada. My broker had a number of discussions with Rustyn Smith of Smith Family Motors and was assured by Rustyn Smith that the car he had in inventory fit the exact parameters I was looking for:
The car's condition was extremely poor not "good condition" as represented by Smith Family Motors. Due to the damages I had to spend: $1600 on new rims, $680 on tire sensors, buy two new tires for the rear of the car ($650), get the car detailed to try and remove some of the scratches ($800), and purchase a second FOB for $350. The total additional cost to me of reconditioning the car is over $3,900. Not only was this car not a lease return, it was a repossession and Rustyn's suggestion that the car was in good condition was not even close to accurate as you can see from the Lexus IS350 photos I have posted for your review. Fortunately for me the truck transporter took photos prior to picking the car up at Smith Family Motors because he was concerned with all the evident damages. Change is opinion !!! what a joke .I have looked at your pictures and his pictures and it's obvious you knew how the car was and you didn't disclose the real condition of the car.it's easy to take advantage of people like us because you know we are too far and we aren't going to knock on your door !! but people will know what happened to us. |
