Cloudy2696,
It is with regret I hear of your negative experience with Honda East.
I had a different experience, and would like to offer for folks' reference.

I personally bought a used Saab from Honda East in autumn 2008, and have nothing but praise for the business ethics of the individuals I dealt with. I came across the Saab on the internet, called to verify the car was still available, confirmed I'd be there to look at it that afternoon. Test drive was ok, didn't experience anything wrong. (Then again, I didn't push the car that hard during test drive.)

After deciding to buy the car, after paying a deposit back at the dealership, they prep'ed the car and was ready to let me drive it off already - while they process the paperwork & title transfer, etc. As I was *about* to drive off the lot, I then noticed a black piece of velcro taped on the instrument console. I tore off the velcro, to find there is a lit Check Engine light under where the velcro used to be. I parked the car, and went to get the sales guy that was showing me the car (not Jason). The sales guy came out, verified the CE light was on, and I can tell he was genuinely surprised. He went back to the sales desk, checked with the manager, brought the car into their repair department for diagnostics, etc. The repair tech explained the CE code has to do with O2 sensor, and without making a quote (since it's a Saab, not a Honda), estimated the cost-to-repair at about $400 or less. The sales manager offered me to either cancel the sale (as though we never had this transaction), or if I like, Honda East will pay the cost of repairing this at a Saab dealer. I chose the latter.

Upon inspection at Saab, besides needing an O2 sensor replacement, the transmission box's mounting bracket also needed replacing. (Bracket broke; could hear it knock only with hard accelerations) Honda East ended up paying for both repair items directly to Saab dealer (Just Saab @ Hyde Park Cincinnati). The service department manager at Just Saab can vouch this happened.

Overall, I was happy with my experience in Honda East. When it's time for me to change my car, I'd definitely include Honda East among the top of my list.

I do know of a Jason at the used car department when I was there. I did not deal directly with Jason, but he does seem very attentive to the clients he was helping. The person I was dealing with, don't remember his name though, was a somewhat elder caucasian guy, white hair. I think his name was Jim, but not sure.

Other sales staff, on the other hand, seemed hesitant to interact with customers. I don't know if they were newly hired/trained or what.

Found a great used Acura, but could not agree on price. Returned home to Cleveland, but received a phone call from "Jason" a few days later. We reviewed the price I was willing to pay, but he said he would only be making $130 off the car, so we still couldn't reach a deal. I said thank you, but I had to stick to my budget. I hung up and less than 5 minutes later Jason called back and they had "re-evaluated my trade" and would give me the price I was willing to pay. I was ecstatic and mentioned again that I was in Cleveland and would be down in two days. He said that was not a problem and that he would honor the deal when I got there and gave me his cell phone number. There was no mention of a deposit or that I needed to put any money down. I took a half day off of work and on my drive down called Jason to make sure the car was ready. He acted annoyed when I called and said that "we sold the car yesterday". I was in shock and thought he was joking. He said "no we sold it yesterday". No apology, no explaination, just down right rude and clearly not concerned with customer service. When the shock wore off, called back and he said "well you didn't have a deposit"... well if I KNEW I needed one, I would have gladly put money down. Overall I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Honda East and DEFINITELY would not recommend this dealership and especially Jason.
