I would highly recommend Honda Cars of Bradenton for not only the purchase of a vehicle but also service. All of the staff, from my salesman, Ryan Piddington, to the managers and all in the service department have always been courteous and efficient.

Honest, friendly, efficient and absolutely no pressure at all from Ryan..this is my second car bought from him at Honda Cars of Bradenton and I see no reason not to continue my run! He listens to what you have to say, what you are interested in and only then gives you guidance and suggestions...does he know he's a car salesman???!! I think he's found the key to being successful but, and here's the clicker...the buyer really wins too! Definitely stop in and see what I mean........TM

I was in the market for a new car and used a couple of online services to contact the internet sales departments of multiple dealerships. This Honda dealership was fast to respond and gave me concrete pricing for models that were on the lot. Some other dealerships only send a cut and paste general email that doesn't help a car buyer with specific prices or models.

Ryan in the internet sales department was fast to respond and went the extra mile for me. I felt a little more at ease going in to the dealership because I had already got some very reasonable quotes by email before even stepping foot in the showroom. If you are shopping for a new car, the only way to go these days is to use the "contact dealers" option on sites like Edmonds dot com or Carsdirect dot com and let the dealers compete for your business. Since the dealers know you are getting prices from several other dealerships, you get a bottom line price a lot faster than you would just walking in cold to a dealership. Some interet sales departments are better than others and this Honda dealership understands the internet customer (busy, wants a firm price quickly without a lot of drama).

I was also impressed with the service area of this dealership which is right in the main showroom. It was clean, lots of snacks and drinks for customers getting their cars serviced and everyone looked content. I've been to some dealerships that have service in a separate area and often the service area is not that well maintained and people don't look glad to be there. The fact that this dealership included it right in the main showroom tells me they have nothing to hide and they are there for the life of your vehicle.

I was impressed with the people and process at this dealership even though I did not end up buying a Honda. They really tried to assess what I wanted and select models that suited my wants. They did not try and push things on me I was not interested in. I would recommend this dealership if you are shopping for Hondas.

I was at the dealer last Sunday with a preapproval letter from my lender for 120% up to 12000. The dealer is listed as a preferred vendor with my lender so I am supposed to be able to bring in the pre-approval letter and walk out with the car.

I test drove a 2006 Sonata and loved it....(this is after they lost my driver's license while making a copy of it...big no no)
Negotiated the price to be within the limits of the loan. Left the dealer on Sunday night at closing with the car and a loaner agreement to take it home for the night and return the next day to sign paperwork.

I returned the next day at 7pm to sign the paperwork and leave with the vehicle....Both of which happened. While signing, I was asked by Steve Morris (finance guy) to fill out a credit application because my lender might need it. I thought it was strange, protested alittle, but filled out a portion of the form (no SSN #).

Needless to say..I was contacted by Honda Cars of Bradenton yesterday to explain that my loan was not approved by my lender and that I needed to come up with an additional 1200 or go with another lender of theirs to get approval.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

I am looking for help from you...I think this might be just another scam by dealers to offset their expenses....get them to leave in the vehicle and then after a week or so, explain that they need to go with this OTHER lender to get approval. All while the dealer has a special arrangement with the lender to get them deals for a "referral fee".

Matt Woods (general manager) basically said he knew they screwed up but didn't think they needed to do anything to correct the issue. Basically said that the vehicle was his and he wanted it back if I wasn't going to pay more or go with his new lender.

To me this smells like the classic bait and switch and I wanted to make sure others didn't get taken advantage by it.
