engine check light came on. 2004 350 4.9 diesel w/ 77,140 miles. no performance
problems or noises. replaced intake manifold. part alone $1,802.63. also replaced
tubo w/ rebuilt. no internal work done. engine check light on returned @78,522.
took to ted russell ford in knoxville, tn. repairs $429.11. showed old manifold to
tech there (i saved it). he said it easily cleanable. also said service advisory on this as well as turbo. said they rebuilt tubos rather than replaced and that since
engine running normally when taken to p. long ford it was likely rebuildable. then returned home to fayetteville, nc, took to lafayette ford which reviewed phil
long bill and agreed intake cleanable and tubo replacement questionable. they
took matter to ford southeastern service rep and was given check for $700
for phil long ford intake replacement. phil long ford has not chosen to participate in rectifying this matter. strongly suggest considering other options for service when in colorado. phil long bill: $6,089.53. ted russell bill:$429.11
