The other day I went to Alan Browne Chevy to negotiate on a car that I was prepared to buy. They refused to budge even $1 on their asking price (which is of course their right), which annoyed me because of course they do not advertise No Haggle Pricing. It was evident that they had no motivation to sell me a car that day, so I decided to leave. On the way out, the salesman was apologizing stating that he does not set the price, etc. I told him that his management certainly wasn't helping him make any commissioned sales in the last week of the month.
As I was headed to my car, Mr. Alan Browne himself came out and asked if he could help me. I thought it was an effort to salvage a potential sale, but it turned out that Mr. Browne was only interested in insulting me. He insinuated that I was lying by presenting him comparable vehicles from the web that were priced $2,000 less for the same features. Although I told him that I've seen the cars in person, he doubted their very existence. He went on and on, insulting me, saying I wasn't a good listener, I wasn't very bright, and I wasn't very smart. He had no desire to sell a car, he just wanted to argue and insult and boast his own intelligence.
I decided that as a customer, I didn't need to take that kind of junk, so, as I turned to leave, I assurred Mr. Browne that I would tell all my friends about my experience at Alan Browne Chevrolet. At which time Mr. Browne said, "I doubt you even have any friends."
