Ill make this short and sweet, i traded in a vehicle for a used vehicle and basically went to my mechanic after purchase just to find out that the ONLY service they did was an oil change and when i went back with my report of what they didnt check: all 4 shocks are shot and need replaced; water pump is leaking out of weep hole which is a major indication the seal is bad and you need to replace; drive belts are dry, brakes are over 90% worn; and after all this they put a radiator stop leak and told me; too bad because its a used vehicle. DO NOT GO TO THEM FOR USED VEHICLES, go next door and buy a toyota.
after all this i was told the shocks were not a safety issue; the water pump was fixed with stop leak; and $10.00 belts are too much for them to replace...

I was at first happpy with Gateway. I purchased my vehicle through this lot and had a couple of my service repairs done hear. But in 2007 I had to make an insurance claim. I was driving on the 101 and an 18 wheeler lost its mudd flap which came under my car and damage quite a bit of the electrical underneath the car. In addition the black plastice flap that covers and protects my radiator from rubbing on speed bumps was knocked loose. It took about 2 days, but my car was fixed. So, I thought. Now I realize I have been driving my car for 2 years, but I feel if the work had been done correctly in the first place I would not now have to pay out of pocket to fix further repairs. Here is what happened:
I picked up my vehicle everything from the front and at a glance underneath looked great. THe car ran fine again and I thought it was great. Well, I just ran over a speed bump, you know the wider ones in residential areas, well my front end scraped a little and I was not going fast. I had just backed out of a spot and was starting to move forward. When it scrapped I stopped to check the front and make sure all was still fine. Well the black plastice flap was on the ground again. I tried to push it up into place and found an ordianary hardware screw had been holding the flap in place this whole time. The screw came loose. I tried to tighten it back where it was in hopes it would hold until I could get home 9 miles away, to tools to really tighten it. It did not and now I have radiator fluid coming out of my radiator on to the ground and the screw s lost. I am in the process of working with my insurance company to get this fixed as it should have been done right in the first place. I hope that this can be fixed correctly now!
Lesson here make sure you closely inspect any work done on your car even if it is under an insurance claim!
Buying a car is not normally an easy no pressure experience. But, at Gateway Chevy, the process couldn't have been easier. The future wife wanted a new Tahoe so we began shopping two weeks ago. We did the majority of our research online, requesting quotes from most of the Chevy Dealers in town.
We asked for prices, interest rates, payment options, and availability of the model we wanted, we really didn't want to spend all day at a car dealership.
Gateway Chevy was the ONLY dealership who complied with our requests, providing all of the info we requested and in a very short amount of time.
They treated us like a valued customer, which wasn't the case with most of the other dealers in town. There was NO pressure, no annoying phone calls over and over again, just an honest upfront experience.
I would highly recommend Gateway Chevy and their great internet department to anyone who is looking for an EASY car buying experience!
