My "check engine light" came on, so I took my car to Tameron. They said the EGR valve needed to be replaced and the ports cleaned (~$450). In their "courtesy" inspection, they found that my battery was "bad?" Although I had not had any battery related trouble, I trusted their opinion, even though the 5 year battery was only 2 years old.
3 days later, my car won't start...,bad battery. I have to jump start it and take it back for another battery. They did another "courtesy" inspection. This time they told me that my drive belts were bad and that my engine mounting bolts were bad!! (In the meantime, I here the service salesmen come in and give everyone else the same story..." We also happened to find xyz wrong with your car).
I was smart enough this time to tell them no thanks. However, my new EGR valve and clean ports that were supposed to make my car run better have knocked 10 mpg off my efficiency. I used to get 28 mpg, the last to fill-ups I got less than 20!!
Not only are they a bunch of crocked thieves, doing unnecessary repairs (probably mandated from the service manager if not higher), but the technicians are incompetent (they gave me a bad battery and destroyed my gas mileage).
I will NEVER return here and I hope you do not either!!
