My husband and I just recently bought a car from this dealership. We were looking for something that we could pay cash for, as I am losing my job as of 3-1-09. We needed to cut back our expenses and were looking for a car for my husband to get back and forth to work (Dayton to Cincinnati). We test drove a vehicle and was told it needed air in the tires and maybe an alignment. It was a older car, but with under 100,000 miles. We asked the salesman if there were any problems with the car and he stated to us, "NO, This vehicle comes with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty and we do not put those warranties on cars we do not deem good enough and in good running condition to drive". I said that sounded great and it seemed to be what we were looking for. They gave us the price we asked for and drove off the lot. As soon as we got about three miles down the highway, the car started jumping all over the road. We took it to our mechanic to see what might be wrong hoping it was a quick fix. Well, it was not. They came back with a laundry list of things wrong with the car including an new front end and anit freeze in the engine oil. My mechanic was shocked that an actual dealership (not a buy here pay here lot, or a private seller) would sell such a car. He said my husband and two of my kids that got into the vehicle could have been killed if something would have happened on the highway. After telling the dealership about it, they basically told us tough luck. They didn't care that they fraudulently sold us a car! They flat out lied. Come to find out they can't even find the inspection sheet! The warranty is still to this day (three weeks after purchase) not registered. The dealership is refusing to do anything about it, other than bring it to them, which I could not do. We had the vehicle repaired at our mechanic and they are refusing to reimburse us the under the warranty. I don't know about you, but any dealer that would knowingly put a family in a car that could have killed them, and waved and smiled as we drove off the lot should not be a car dealership that is in business. If they do not fix this matter, and soon I will do anything it takes for no one else to buy a car from them again! Times are tough yes, but not tough enough for a SUBARU dealership to put other peoples lives at risk, especially young children. And for them to have no solution to this?? Even worse in my eyes. If you didn't know what you sold us, then I believe an apology and taking the car back is in order! But NOOOOOOO it is no one's fault there at that dealership...So beware the vehicles they say are inspected are probably not. They probably just took it to be detailed and put it right back out on the lot if it was a trade in. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! Also, ask for arbitration clause to be taken out of your sales contract. You have the right to legal representation!
