Walked in and negotiated deal on used vehicle. Asked for pre-existing warranty to be transferred to our name. Dealer assured us that this had already been done and no further action was needed.
Called Ford in Detroit to confirm and they listed the previous owner as the warranty-holder and that we would need a letter from previous owner in order to transfer warranty.
Called dealer, who refused to give contact info and repeated lie that coverage was already in our name.
Called Ford in Detroit, who gave me contact info after reiterating that a letter of consent would be need.
We will drive out of town to transfer warranty, get any and all service, and will avoid this dealer like the plague in the future.
My father bought a truck from this dealership recently. When he got his monthly statement from the financing company, it was higher than he had anticipated. They had a contract on record that was for a price $4000 higher than the contract he had signed. The financing company told him the contract he signed was not valid, that they didn't use or accept it. An employee from the dealership had FORGED HIS SIGNATURE and sent the higher contract to the financing company. My father contacted the attorney general who proceeded to call the dealership. They claimed to have NO contract on file. That was as far as the attorney general would go. However, the owner of the dealership met with my father, gave him a contract to sign that was for the price he had originally agreed upon and told him not to take him to court. He told my father that he had already made all his money and that if my father challenged him in court, he WOULD win. The people at this dealership are criminals.
