Ocean Honda previously Honda of Port Richey and before that Gateway Honda. The new owners, Cappo’s company, the Michigan-based Victory Automotive Group are ready to turn this struggling dealer into a top selling, customer friendly dealership.

The president of Victory takes a hands-on approach, which is known for transforming struggling dealerships into top sellers. The group, based near Ann Arbor, Mich., now owns at least 20 dealerships. This is his first one in Florida.

Ocean Honda is offering free loaner cars and carwashes to his customers and is not charging high dealer fees. “We charge $59 and that’s how much it costs us to do your paperwork,” he said. “Dealer fees are nothing but a ripoff.”

Cappo started with 30 employees at the Port Richey dealership and has added 20 more, including general manager Frank Delvecchio. Customers can expect to see more inventory on the lot soon, including used cars.

Ocean Honda will have plenty of competition on U.S. 19, which is the primary dealer strip for west Pasco.
