Howard Griffeth is accused of forging 91 checks from his former his employer.
The Lincolnton police arrested Griffeth after reports of cashing forged checks from the owner of Barrett’s Used Cars, Joe Barrett. Griffeth allegedly cashed the forged checks at several convenience store locations over a 6-month period. It is reported by the police that the total amount stolen was $6,051.18.
The police report, Griffeth is charged with 15 felony counts of forgery, uttering and obtaining property by false pretenses. Griffeth bail is set at $75,000.
